Washing stainless steel dishes is easy and does not require special products. All you need is a regular detergent and a sponge. For more stubborn stains, you can use baking soda, vinegar or lemon juice. The dishwasher is usually suitable, but some sources recommend hand washing for a longer life.
Basic washing:
Normal dirt: Use warm water and regular dishwashing detergent. In nature, use ecological products that do not harm water sources - for example, Travel global wash, which you can find in our offer.
Soaking: For burnt-on residues, soak the dishes in warm water with detergent.
Polishing: After washing, it is usually enough to wipe the dishes dry with a dry cloth to maintain their shine.
Removing stubborn stains:
Baking soda: Sprinkle baking soda on a damp surface, rub, leave to act and rinse.
Vinegar: Use diluted vinegar (e.g. 3 parts water to 1 part vinegar) for boiling or soaking.
Lemon juice: Can be used to remove stains and polish.
Sand: If you don't mind scratching the surface of the dishes, fine sand can also be used, especially when using outdoors without access to other options.
Maintaining shine:
Prevention: Try to wash dishes immediately after use and do not let food residue dry on them.
Polishing: You can use baking soda, vinegar, lemon juice or special stainless steel cleaners to restore shine.
Steel wool: Avoid steel wool, which can scratch the surface.
Dishwasher:
Dishwasher: Dishes can be washed in the dishwasher. However, washing in the dishwasher can shorten the life of the dishes, especially the silicone protection on the handles.
Chlorine: Be careful with detergents containing chlorine, which can dull the surface.
Drying: After washing in the dishwasher, it is advisable to dry the dishes immediately.
Tips:
Temperature shocks: Let the dishes cool down before washing.
Acidic foods: Avoid prolonged contact with acidic foods, which could damage the surface, create stains or cause oxidation.
White spots: Use vinegar or special stainless steel cleaners to remove white limescale stains.
Corrosion: Stainless steel dishes can also rust. However, if you take care of them properly, you can avoid corrosion quite well. This means not using steel wool and too aggressive detergents, drying the dishes immediately after washing and not leaving them in too humid an environment for a long time. If rust does appear, it is recommended to mix a drop of water with baking soda to create a paste-like substance, leave it on the corroded area and then try to remove it together with the rust with a brush, a rough sponge or something similar. Another option is to use one of the special products.
